Containers were bought and installed on three properties to help store items salvaged or given to those who lived there.
Rebuild Pappinbarra and Wauchope Rotary are now working on the next phase, which is the reconnection of power where needed, and providing a shed for people to use as a temporary shelter until they can rebuild their homes.
To achieve this from the Appeal Funds they will need further donations from the community, as the current fundraising shortfall to deliver this planned help is $7000.
The Rotary Club of Wauchope and the Rebuild Pappinbarra group are encouraging continued donations to the fundraising account to enable this further help to be provided to the people affected by the bushfires.
The coordinating Committee, after consultation with those impacted, recognise that if they can achieve this additional support, they will have made a real difference in getting the families back to some normality in their life.
“We again say thank you on behalf of the families who have received your support from your donations to date. We ask that, as a community, we seek to close out this remaining amount.
“It will ensure that we can finalise our immediate community support for these families,” said a spokesperson.

Donations can be made by electronic direct deposit, or in person at any Holiday Coast Credit Union branch.
A GoFundMe appeal for Helen Riek’s horses which were affected by the fire has reached $23,955.
And another GoFundMe appeal for Tom and Mili Cowen who lost their home has raised $13,000.
