As teenagers growing up in Grafton, Adam Eckersley and Brooke McClymont knew of each other, you could say.

“Brooke and I used to live in the same street and I would call out to her as she rode past my house, ‘I’m going to marry you one day, Brooke McClymont!’,” Adam said.
“And I’d shout back, ‘In your dreams, mullethead’,” Brooke laughed.
The two went on their own, highly successful musical journeys. Brooke and her sisters formed the country music group The McClymonts and Adam, The Adam Eckersley Band.
The McClymonts have won 10 Golden Guitar awards and two ARIA Awards.
The Adam Eckersley Band has won two Golden Guitar awards, one APRA Country song of the year award and completed their first European tour in September 2016.
Adam and Brooke, mixing in the same music circles, were brought back together again. So, despite his shocking teenage mullet hair-do, Adam’s early prediction was right.
They have been married for seven years now and have a young daughter who looks just like her dad.
The family now live on the Central Coast of NSW and just launched their first tour as a duo (and a tiny roadie).
Travelling around the state to promote their Winter Warm Up Tour, Adam and Brooke stopped in at Laurieton on Wednesday, May 24, to chat with the Camden Haven Courier.
They spoke about how they combined their talents, their teenage ‘relationship’ and how love blossomed since. Watch the video of the interview which includes a random question at the end:
The Winter Warm Up Tour is an acoustic mix of original music and cover tunes.
The performance at the Laurieton United Services Club on July 29, co-incides with the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council by-election and could be the perfect way to relax after voting.
“We’re looking forward to spreading some warmth wherever we go,” Brooke said.
“We we love playing music together but rarely get the opportunity to. It has worked out that Adam and I have some time to do some shows so we thought we'd jump at the chance.”
Adam added: “We're not too sure when the next opportunity will be for us to play shows together, so we plan to make the most of it while we can. We love playing these up-close and personal acoustic shows. We can have a good laugh and chat with each other and the audience too which is great fun.”
