The Camden Haven Orchid Society will be holding their Winter Show at the Laurieton United Services Club on Saturday and Sunday June 10 and 11.

Brilliant blooms of flowering orchids from vivid yellows to the most delicate pinks, evergreen bromeliads and foliage plants with exotic spikes are a special treat this weekend.
Some of the genera to be exhibited will be Phalaenopsis, Cymbidium and Cattleya Hybrids and species orchids.
In all there will be fourteen (14) classes exhibited with 74 sub sections to be judged for awards by the judging panel appointed by The Australian Orchid Council, New South Wales division.
The show will be open to the public on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 9.30am to 3pm.
There will be more than 200 exhibits by orchid growers from Camden Haven, Bellingen, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Taree and Forster areas.
The society has gained several new members and a special section will be open for novice growers to exhibit plants.
To assist new members and the public interested in growing orchids there will be potting demonstrations each day at 10.30am on Saturday by Allan Wallace and 11am on Sunday by Wayne Stephensen, both experienced growers and growing notes for all genera will be available.
A society sales table for orchids, bromeliads and foliage plants and accessories will be available.
Society members will be happy to give advice on growing conditions and plants suitable to the region.
The presentation to prize winners will be at 3pm on Sunday.
Entry by donation will go to “Heart Support Australia” who work with people with heart problems or surgery to give support and encouragement.
Groups for “Heart Support Australia” are located in Port Macquarie at the Base Hospital and the Camden Haven Group meet at the Laurieton United Services Club.
