Blackbutt Oval is the venue for the mountain bike event, from 10am until 10pm. The categories are 12-hour or 3+3 hour, solo, relay teams and esprit de corps teams. And there’s a free kids 12-minute event.
Everyone can take part, from beginner through to competitive riders. The aim is to complete as many laps in a 12-hour period as you can, either as a solo rider, or in a team of friends or workmates.
You can do one lap, then change over to your next rider, or do several before changing over. And the pace is up to you.
Laps will be approximately 13km and take about 50-90 minutes to complete, depending on your fitness.
The course is designed to suit all riders’ skill levels, not too hilly or technical, but there will be some sections with an easier trail and a more faster one for more experienced riders.
The event will run into night time, so you will need lights. Entries close at midnight on Friday June 23. For more info, go to www.trailterra.com.au
