St Joey’s will head to Coffs Harbour on July 26 with their under-13 and under-18 teams aiming to qualify for the final in Dubbo in August.
Their under-18 side accounted for Macksville High School 28-0 on June 28 while Camden Haven High School’s under-15 side snuck past Orara High School 10-6.
The statewide competition is broken into four gala days across the North Coast to get the North Coast representatives in the final.
National Rugby League game development officer Pat Preston said it was an incredible achievement for the Mid-North Coast to have three representatives in the relevant age groups.
“Last year we had Chatham High School from Taree that won the open division, but there weren’t any teams from the Port Macquarie cluster,” he said.
“We usually fare pretty well in these sorts of competitions and Camden Haven made the final of the under-13 division a couple of years ago.
“We’re really happy to see these schools qualify for the semi-finals and we think they’ll go well. We usually hold our own.”
