The new Hyndmans Creek Bridge on Comboyne Road will open to motorists on Wednesday July 12.

The prefabricated concrete bridge replaces a timber bridge which had reached the end of its service life and ensures a safer journey along Comboyne Road for locals, businesspeople and visitors.

Council Deputy Mayor Lisa Intemann said this $2million project and the replacement of two more timber bridges along Comboyne Road will provide a great service to the Comboyne community for many years to come.

“The completion of the new Hyndmans Creek Bridge is the outcome of significant investment from both Council and the Roads and Maritime Services, and ensures the safety and longevity of our regional road networks for our community” said Deputy Mayor Lisa Intemann.

“Council also looks forward to delivering new concrete bridges at Bulli Creek later in 2017, and Hartys Creek in 2018.”

Final steps to complete the project will include road line marking and site clean-up in coming weeks.

During this time the community are being reminded to follow speed limit restrictions of 40kmph and any traffic controls that may be in place.

The council says it appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience while this important work is being undertaken.
