Over 120 players will once converge on course bright and early on Sunday, August 6 with a shotgun start to commence the four person ambrose competition at 7.30am.
The “Bato” Golf Day has become one of the best supported social golfing days that the Camden Haven experiences with many players booking in as soon as the previous year’s day is complete For many it is their only golfing day of the year.
Ian Barbato was a well-known community icon who suddenly passed away in 2004.
Ian loved to combine a good yarn with an adventure on the golf course and so every year since in his honour, many of his friends and family gather at Kew to do the same and remember the great man.
As Ian was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. All funds raised from the day will continue to be donated to the local Kendall Riding for the Disabled Association.
This is a wonderful organisation and over $20,000 has been raised through previous events.
There are still limited places available for teams of four to book.
These will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
To book contact the Country Club on 02 6559 4596.
The cost is $30 per player and includes a BBQ breakfast from 7.00am.
Pre-booked teams are asked to arrive from 6.45am to complete registration, collect their playing cards and enjoy a sandwich before play commences.
Along with the four man ambrose competition, there will also be a longest drive competition with a twist, where players may only use the extremely long club provided.
There will also be other novelty events.
Following the golfing festivities there will be a presentation in the club house with a raffle.
Prizes have been kindly donated by PRDnationwide Laurieton, Laurieton United Servicemans Club, T-Bones meats, Garels Golf, Dollar Savers Hardware, Laurieton Cellars Local Liquor, Camden Haven’s Local Lawyer, CJL Air Conditioning, Kendall Services & Citizens Club, Laurieton Hotel and the Kew Country Club.
