Garden Clubs of Australia president George Hoad was invited to the event as a special guest. He presented the club with a certificate of congratulations to commemorate its birthday.
Ross Morgan was welcomed into the secretary position and Ian Jackson as treasurer.
Members were asked to bring a plant or arrangement from their garden for the People’s Choice Award. The winner was decided by popular vote.
June Wholohan’s miniature succulent garden complete with garden seat was chosen as the winner.
The Midcoast Garden Friends club’s next meeting is on Tuesday, August 1 at 10am. It is at Addictive Landscapes in Bonny Hills.
Stephen Bridge will be the guest speaker at the meeting. Mr Bridge is a landscaper who specialises in rare and unusual plants.
There will be the opportunity to discuss garden problems and solutions.
Morning tea will be provided. Members are asked to bring a mug, a small plate of food to share and a folding chair.
New members and visitors are welcome to join in to share their interest and experience in gardening.
