Just over 4600 people had voted at pre-poll centres in Port Macquarie and Laurieton by the end of July 20.
Some 3594 people lodged their votes at the Port Macquarie pre-poll centre in its first four days. The Laurieton centre recorded 1009 voters over the same period.
The Wauchope pre-poll centre opens on July 22.
Mayoral candidate Cr Sharon Griffiths said a lot of voters arriving to vote early had already decided who they were voting for.
Meanwhile, mayoral candidate Cr Lisa Intemann said it was great to meet people down on the hustings.
Mayoral candidate Lauren Edwards said The Greens had some keen volunteers at pre-poll voting centres.
Mayoral candidate Peta Pinson acknowledged the supporters who were handing out material for the candidates.
Mayoral candidate Cr Rob Turner said there had been a pretty big response to pre-poll voting with a range of feedback received from the community.
Those eligible to pre-poll vote still have time to vote early.
Three pre-poll voting centres are open until 6pm on July 28.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings returning officer’s office at 63 Horton Street acts as the pre-poll voting centre in Port Macquarie.
The Camden Haven Scout Hall at 5 Tunis Street is the pre-poll voting centre in Laurieton.
Head to the Wauchope Indoor Stadium at 82-94 Cameron Street to cast your pre-poll vote in Wauchope from July 22.
Postal voting is another option to vote early.
The mayoral election day is July 29.
Five candidates are in the running.
The candidates, in ballot paper order, are Sharon Griffiths (independent), Lisa Intemann (independent), Lauren Edwards (The Greens), Peta Pinson (independent) and Robert Turner (independent).
