Roads and Maritime Services will resurface the highway to provide a smoother journey for motorists and reduce the need for ongoing maintenance.
Work will be carried out from Monday, July 24 between 7am and 7pm, excluding Sundays It will take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The work will be carried out at different locations on an eight kilometre stretch of the highway between Double Gully Creek and Hollis Creek.
Temporary lane closures and a reduce speed limit will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and the community.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey and allow extra travel time, as delays of up to five minutes may be experienced.
Up to date information including any changes to work dates will be displayed on electronic messaging signs along the road and highway.
