Barriers are currently in place to prevent risk of fall for reserve users.
Mr Bulley said council is continuing to monitor erosion, with the weekend’s weather event adding to other significant weather incidents that have impacted the reserve in the past year.
Council has applied for funding through the Rescuing our Waterways grant program.
A decision on the application is expected later this year.
Mr Bulley said development of a Masterplan for Lake Cathie Foreshore will commence soon.
“Through this process the community will have input into longer term management strategies for addressing erosion at the reserve.”
