Festival of the Sun kicks of the summer music program across the country with an outer space theme on December 7-9 and this year Meg Mac, Ball Park Music and The Preatures will be among the drawcards acts.
Horrorshow, Holy Holy, Kim Churchill, Bad//Dreems, Sampa the Great, The Bennies, Ali Barter, Ivan Ooze, The Cactus Channel, Dear Seattle, Press Club, Maddy Jane, Betty and Oswald, Wharves, Sons of Jaguar, SCABZ and one lucky triple j Unearthed winner round out the line-up.
FOTSUN festival director and aspiring astronaut Simon Luke said the music event has a positive future.
“We’re really proud of the fact the FOTSUN experience is so unique that we attract lots of artists and industry who simply attend to hang out and catch up, including many past performers, who are always welcome,” he said.
For those sun-lovin’ space cadets who want prime position, FOTSUN is opening the Breakwall Holiday Park doors on Thursday, December 7 at 2pm for Wabi Sabi and silent comedy.
The festival kicks off proper on Friday at noon with bands playing though until 10pm.
Tickets for FOTSUN 2017 go on sale August 31 at 10am . There are only 3,000 of these tickets available and they’re hotter than a meteor re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. A variety of ticketing packages are available and full details can be found on fotsun.com.
