Clare Gray from the committee said the group is working closely with Port Macquarie Hastings Council who are supportive of the project.
“We have the pleasure of mayor Peta Pinson and deputy mayor Lisa Intemann attending our meeting this Monday night on August 21,” she said.
“We look forward to sharing all our latest developments with them.”
Members of the committee and also members from Lake Cathie / Bonny Hills Lions Club recently met with council staff to discuss plans for the project and the proposed area for the facility.
Committee members have also been running fundraising barbecues at Lake Cathie and Port Macquarie.
“We were delighted to have some of our youth of the area help out with sales of our sponsor supported T-shirts,” Mrs Gray said.
Meetings for the The Lake Cathie Skate and Recreational Park project are on the first and third Mondays of the month at Lake Cathie Bowling Club from 6.30 pm.
Everyone is invited to the meeting to share their ideas for the project.
