The season had its wins, losses and draws which provided the players with the full range of emotions, but built solid sportsmanship values and the motivation to always try their best.
In his first ever soccer season, Luke Dante showed incredible improvement and became braver, more confident and more skilled with each game.
Indy Cook was another whose improvement and focus saw her scoring goals and often being in the right spot to willingly have a go and challenge for the ball.
Kaiden Johnson’s speed and control with the ball saw him make some great runs resulting in goals! We also wish him well as he becomes a big brother again very, very soon!
Jacob Dalton possesses a great ability to read the game. Light on his feet, he always shows great skill and has the makings of a very skilled and accurate striker.
No one would have known that it was Archer Thoms’ first year playing soccer! He picked up skills very quickly and always tried hard during each match and applied himself at training.
Dylan Middleton came a long way this season! He showed determination and really discovered the benefits of being a team player and passing and running with his team mates.
Hayley Crowle continued her work as a ‘pocket rocket’ using her speed to run the ball and score some great goals.
Finally, there’s the all rounder - Tilly Payne, who worked hard all over the field! She saved more goals than could be counted with her great ability to predict opponents and be right there to turn a ball around and tackle with all of her heart!
With such a great little team, it’s going to be sad to end the season, but it has been a very enjoyable privilege to have coached them, seeing each one develop wonderful attitudes to sport and providing encouragement to each other to be the best that they could be as their friendships have grown.
Thank you also to their fabulous families who provide so much more than just oranges and cheering! Your constant positive encouragement and support of all of the children in the team will leave them with wonderful memories of a joyful season.
Go you little Redbacks!!
