The game will be played 11:30am on Sunday, September 17 at Blackbutt Park, Wauchope.
After starting this year’s competition as an outside underdog, the Magpies have played their way up the pecking order. They finished the regular season in outright second place behind the Spartans.
Last Sunday the Magpies met the Giants in an elimination final. The Magpies will now battle for the B grade title against an in-form Spartans side on Sunday.
The Magpies went into the elimination final game with great enthusiasm, even after being defeated in their last four outings.
The Magpies opened the game with a strong pitching performance from Warren Collins and confident fielding by the Magpies squad, who also bagged 3 outfield catches and an impressive double play. At the plate the Magpies were just as impressive with the bat. Leigh I‘Anson continued his impressive batting form with five safe hits from five turns at the plate. Todd Reid and Reid Farrell bagged three safe hits each and Michael Van Eck smashed a two base hit in the third innings.
The final score was Magpies 17 and Giants 5.
