The Kew golf club has been hosting PGA Pro Am events for over 20 years and the club loves having the professionals.
“It’s great to be part of the North Coast swing. Being able to work with the other clubs in the region and build some publicity for the area is very rewarding,” said the club’s operations manager Deniece Merryfull.
“We also like helping the young professionals in giving them playing opportunities.”
Scott Arnold has made his way back from an injury and shot a fine 4-under par 66 in the morning.
“These greens are some of the best I’ve played on even compared to the courses we play in Europe,” Arnold who in recent years has been playing on the European Challenge Tour said.
It would be the ever consistent Matthew Millar that would make sure the spoils were shared. His winning 4-under par 66 came with a heavy heart. Millar’s caddy while playing in Europe passed away during the week.
“This one’s for Jimmy Main,” said Millar.
Former U.S. Tour player James Nitties would finish one shot behind the leaders with a 3-under par 67.
Rounding out the top five were Nathan Green and Dale Brandt-Richards who shot 2-under par 70’s.
The amateur overall winner was K Miller on 46, second place went to junior V Limeburner on 42 and third place also went to one of junior F Murray on 40.
