The North Coast NSW Human Research and Ethics Committee (HREC) is seeking submissions from community members to join the committee.
The committee plays an important role in assessing research proposals and ensuring research is carried out in accordance with the highest levels of ethical standards.
The committee is seeking Individuals who represent the following categories:
• Members of the public who have no professional or specialised knowledge in medical, scientific, legal or academic work and who have no affiliation with the Mid North Coast and/or Northern NSW Local Health Districts
• Individuals with knowledge of, and current experience in, the professional care, counselling or treatment of people. • Individuals who performs a pastoral care role in the community, for example, an Aboriginal Elder or a Minister of religion.
• Lawyers
• Individuals with current research experience that is relevant to clinical, medical, health services and population health based-research.
To submit your expression of interest please email your Curriculum Vitae to the Acting Executive Officer, North Coast NSW HREC at EthicsNCNSW@ncahs.health.nsw.gov.au.
The closing date for submissions is 12 noon, Friday, September 15.
Submissions will be considered by a selection committee.
The committee meets once a month by teleconference or video-link and members are appointed for three years.
Members volunteer their time and are not offered remuneration.
