If you are looking to while away a perfect spring day, there is no better place for a day trip than Bonny Hills.

Now the improvements to the Ghost Road have been completed, getting to Bonny Hills from the Pacific Highway has never been easier.

So why not pack up a picnic, surf board or bucket and spade and head to the gorgeous Rainbow Beach. 

The surf here is legendary but it is also a great spot for the kids to have a paddle. The gently flowing Vinegar Creek is a great spot for children. 

Rainbow Beach is patrolled during school holidays October through to April.

As the whales begin their migration southwards this season, there are some great vantage points at Bonny Hills where you can spot these magnificent creatures sometimes with their calfs.

There is so much to do at Bonny Hills. It is renowned for being a spot where outdoor activities can be enjoyed to the maximum. 

There are surfing, boating, river and beach fishing and deep sea kayaking to be enjoyed. As well as canoeing, paragliding, parasailing, windsurfing, 4WD, bush walking, mountain biking and snorkelling.

For something more gentle, with 2.5 kilometres of pristine sand, Rainbow Beach is delightful for a stroll. You can even take your four-legged friends. North of Duchess Creek is designated as a dog-friendly beach.

Rainbow Beach is a great spot for surfers. Surf competitors can often be seen here enjoying clean three-foot waves.

Littlies in Bonny Hills now have a safe place to learn all about road rules whilst riding their bikes and scooters. The newly built bike track is a great addition to the play park for small children and toddlers.

This laid-back village with its beautiful beaches and eclectic range of shops, cafes and restaurants is the perfect coastal destination.
