The bushfire which spread across 1,000 hectares west of Comboyne was still out of control at 5pm on Monday September 25.
It was reported to the Rural Fire Service at 1pm on Sunday September 24 and 100 firefighters with 30 engines have been fighting it.
No-one’s been injured and the firies saved at least eight houses overnight, though a cabin and a house on one block of land were burnt out on Colling Road. Both were empty at the time, as the owners were in Sydney.
The blaze has destroyed a lot of fencing and grazing land, affecting farmers, who were already struggling with dry weather. Farmer Jeff Latham grazes cattle in the Colling Road area which was badly burnt.
