Lake Cathie Public School has been awarded $30,000 and will use the fund to establish an OSHC service on its premises. It is estimated that 120 places will be created for children following the service’s establishment.
Mrs Williams praised the school for applying for a grant under the Before and After School Care Fund, a $20 million NSW Government initiative designed to create more places in out of school hours care programs across the state.
“This funding is great news for busy families who need the extra flexibility that before and after school care provides,” Mrs Williams said.
Lake Cathie Public School’s Inaugural P&C President, Susie Storm said the OSHC is a wonderful service to local families.
“Our area has grown dramatically in recent years and to now have this service operating from our new school is a blessing for parents and will further enhance the school community,” Mrs Storm said.
Mrs Williams said, “This grant program is just another way the NSW Government is helping families access the childcare support that they need.”
