Jacob Cronje, meteorologist at weatherzone, delivered the good news on Sunday afternoon.
“We could still see showers, and on Monday we are expecting them to develop, seeing rainfall on both Monday and Tuesday,” he said.
“We are expecting the odd shower each day until the weekend, and on and off throughout the days it won’t be hot at all.”
“We could see 30mm of rain until the end of the week; it’s quite likely, and eventually more.”
Cloud has been prominent during the past few weeks, and that cloud cover will provide cooler temperatures, ranging from 23 to 26 degrees this week.
Mr Cronje said the dangerous surf conditions are being caused by circulation from the south over the weekend, which has helped to build up the waves.
“We can expect lingering poor surf conditions on Monday morning, but improving throughout the day and the week,” he said.
