The Series is one of the highest level of racing interstate with many races across New South Wales and the ACT.
Local young shredders Max Smith and Sam Poulton were stoked with their results with Max taking out the series winning place in the under 19's category when only at the age of 17 and Sam who took second place in the under 15's category.
Jason Hunziker and Blake Tipper also placed well in the Veterans and Under 19's Categories with consistent riding efforts to place just missing the podium with a fourth place. On the last event day at Dungog, Pat Galbraith-Robertson after a spell from racing, placed second in the Veterans category.
Vice President Pat Galbraith-Robertson stated that Enduro mountain biking is proving to be a popular form of riding.
“It’s only been in existence for about five years,” he said. “Riders compete in three to four timed (predominantly downhill) runs but need to make their way back to the top of the mountain under their own steam - this being the main difference from downhill racing.
“It's similar to a car rally where riders have got up to three to four stages, sometimes multi-day, primarily descending, and it's a cumulation of those times that gives us the overall result on the day.
“Race days are always full of adrenalin and fun to race with your mates.”
Galbraith-Robertson said the club is pleased to see some local riders getting some great results.
“As well our new mountain bike park Jolly Nose Mountain Bike Park is creating plenty of interest in local mountain bike riding circles,” he said.
“Cross country and gravity enduro styles of riding is growing with immense popularity.
“We are hoping in the future to hold an Interstate event to showcase the great local venue and trails we have.”
The local Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Riders will make their way to Kempsey, which is reported to have some fantastic trails for the inter-State Rocky Trail Rollercoaster Championships on November 18 to 19.
