This summer, in partnership with Festival of Small Halls, Wauchope Community Arts Council welcomes American folk raconteur Vance Gilbert and Australian singer-songwriter Liz Stringer to the Wauchope Community Arts Hall.
"We’ve been putting live independent music on at Wauchope Arts Hall since 1997 - the venue is a very popular spot for touring musicians,” said Wauchope Community Arts Council President Krissa Wilkinson.
“If you come to the Hall, you can see that there’s a big focus on art and local artists. It’s a much loved venue and we often get national and international artists contacting us to come back when they’re touring again."
Patrons travel from across the Mid North Coast to experience the intimacy, acoustics and ambience of this little timber hall.
"Wauchope is an old-fashioned Australian country town. However, it has the added charm of a movement called Creative Wauchope, a few local creative businesses trying to cultivate an idea that goes beyond Wauchope.
“Interestingly a lot of people who live around Wauchope moved from Sydney and Melbourne in the 80s, and brought with them that creative culture that makes it unique here,” said Ms Wilkinson.
Festival of Small Halls arrives in Wauchope at the Wauchope Community Arts Hall for one night only on Sunday, November 26 2017.
Produced by Woodfordia Inc. in partnership with the Woodford Folk Festival and Mullum Music Festival, the Festival of Small Halls is a locally driven music tour bringing high-quality live original music to small towns across Australia.
Doors open 6.30pm.
