This year’s Tastings on Hastings Festival is upon us, and promises to be a fabulous weekend for soaking up the spring sunshine and enjoying the best produce, beverages and foodie delights that our region has to offer.

Celebrity chef Matt Golinski will join us again this year, and will showcase his love of locally grown produce at various locations across the weekend.

From paddock to plate and plate to our tummy’s, there’s nothing better than the experience that fresh food can offer.

The Main Event on Saturday is sure to be a real highlight, as for the first time we combine the daytime market and festival atmosphere with the night-time celebrations in a one day extravaganza.... be sure not to miss it.

The first annual ‘Hot Wing Challenge’ will also be contested on Saturday, along with the announcement of the winners in the inaugural ‘Favourite Foodie Awards’.

So if you want to experience the much loved food stalls, demonstrations and entertainment Tastings on Hastings has become known for, then make your way to the Town Green and ignite your senses this Saturday.

Recipients announced for community grants

A big congratulations must go to the successful recipients in round 1 of our Community Grants Program, announced last week.

24 local not-for-profits, event managers and community groups have been successful in sharing a total of $107,000, to give their program or initiative a much needed boost.

Funding delivered in this round will help provide protective equipment for Riding for the Disabled, upgrade toilet facilities at Byabarra Hall and assist Port Macquarie Landcare volunteers to protect our environment, to name just a few.

Recipients will receive their funds at a special ceremony being held at Council on Wednesday 1 November.
