Garden Club President Lucy Miller presented the trees during a school assembly and explained to the students the growth and flowering habit of these spectacular natives.
Principal Jock Garvan thanked the garden club and said the trees would be a welcome addition in the beautification of the school grounds and nominated an appropriate position for planting the trees.
“Students will be included in the care and watering of the trees as we are keen to foster an awareness and appreciation of our natural environment,” Mr Garvan said.
The next meeting for Midcoast Garden Friends is on Tuesday November 7 at 10am at Bonny Hills Community Hall.
The guest speaker will be Doug Crawford a former TAFE Horticulture teacher. Doug will be talking about propagation and will be able to answer any gardening questions that members may have.
At the meeting there will be the opportunity to discuss garden successes, problems and their solutions. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Members are asked to bring a mug and a small plate of food to share, along with plants or produce for the trading table, and are reminded to bring money for Christmas lunch in December.
New members and visitors are always welcome to attend and share their interest and experience in gardening.
