The host club’s veteran men’s golf president Neil Mathews said the course was in excellent condition.
“Everyone is already back in the clubhouse and relaxing over a cold drink and everyone appears very happy with their day’s golf,” he said.
“Today is all about getting visitors to the club to enjoy our facilities and to test themselves on the course.
“And everyone is smiling, so they must have enjoyed themselves.”
Despite it being ‘bloody hot’, many of the visitors will stay in the Camden Haven for the week before travelling to another course as an extension of their golfing holiday.
While the scores were competitive for Monday’s round, Beverley Park visitor Fran Yates holed a birdie to take one of the prizes on offer.
Golf continues on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday while Wednesday is a day off.
