Never dull and boring, Queens Lake served up another great day of sailing for the annual Queen of the Lake marathon on November 4.

After forecasts of strong southerlies and torrential rain, Only the brave set forth in beautiful sunny conditions with a consistent gentle 10 knots out of the South East.

The wind shifted several times during the race to all corners of the lake, turning working legs into reaches and blue skies to black.

With most of the boats finished and heading for the beach, the skies opened for 20 minutes of heavy rain coupled with an eerie calmness to the lake.

Congratulations to all those who participated, all divisions were closely contested, and many thanks to those on the safety and start boats without whom we could not race.
