My wife and I moved to North Haven from Campbelltown NSW one year ago. During our last few years down south we were totally inundated with these pests to the complete detriment of most native species. We were very pleased to see all the native birds around our new home but I then saw a few Indian Mynas in Laurieton.

Campbelltown City Council recognised the seriousness of the problem, perhaps too late I feel, and conducted information seminars where traps were sold by the local Men's Shed. These were $50 and I think should have been subsidised.

These birds were introduced to Australia in the 1800s to control pests in market gardens but their story is now the same as the cane toad.

Perhaps PMHC should tackle this problem early to have any chance of winning.
