On Friday, I was proud to stand alongside Michelle McLaughlin, founder of the Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation, to launch this year’s road safety campaign. Michelle started spreading the ‘It’s Holiday Time: Slow Down, Kids Around’ message in 2014, following the tragic death of her son in a pedestrian accident on the Central Coast. You’ve probably noticed the many brightly coloured signs on the streets, playgrounds and car parks at Town Beach, Flynns Beach, Lake Cathie and North Haven. As our towns and villages become busy over the holiday period, pay extra attention when driving, slow down and look out for each other. Please ensure your young ones are watched at all times, and they only cross a road holding onto an adult’s hand.
Try Wauchope for gifts
If you’re searching for a Christmas present with a difference, or have someone who’s hard to buy for, shop unique boutique in Wauchope. From eccentric trinkets, to women’s clothing, tech gadgets, knick-knacks, kid’s toys and more, you’ll find it there. The upgrades to the main street are ahead of schedule, so there’s easy access to all the businesses in High St, and lots of parking too. Small businesses do such a great job of providing for our local communities by employing local residents, and now’s the time to give back by shopping local. For updates on main street upgrades visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/wauchope-cbd-upgrade.
