After a quick announcement over the PA System at nippers on Sunday, the ‘Mal de Mer Club’ came forward and presented a cheque to Xander for Ronald McDonald House.
From May till August this year Xander and his family stayed at Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle for treatment for a bone disease. This long stay was made so much easier thanks to the love and support from Ronald McDonald House. The house are fundraising with a toy raffle this year just in time for Christmas and Xander has been selling tickets to give back to the house that has supported him. This is the house where families meet to continue their lives... to eat and sleep... to find their strengths and dry their tears... to look forward with hope to better years, this is the house that becomes their home... this is the house that love built.
Located in the grounds of John Hunter Children’s Hospital Newcastle, the house helps families overcome the stresses associated with a child’s illness by encouraging supportive interaction with other parents in a comfortable, home-like environment.
Tickets are available from Bonny Hills Bistro and Kendall Op Shop.
