This competition saw both boys and girls teams compete for the right to continue to the next round to play Tacking Point Public School. Beechwood, Wauchope, Kendall, North Haven and Laurieton met to see which teams would continue in the competition.
Once again the Kendall fields proved to be the ideal venue as the grounds are well prepared and the facilities well presented. Thanks must go to Pat Kerr and the management committee. The weather proved ideal too as the conditions suited these high energy, fast paced games.
The boys games were fantastic to watch. Fast and filled with enthusiasm they demonstrated the players' skills. In the first round North Haven overcame Laurieton. North Haven then went on the defeat Kendall in a nail biting extra time game.
North Haven were then overcome by Wauchope who will now continue in the competition against the winner of the Port Macquarie schools rounds.
In the girls' draw Wauchope defeated Beechwood whilst North Haven defeated Laurieton. North Haven then went on to defeat Kendall and in the final they also defeated Wauchope which is an excellent result for the local team. Well done girls!
Good luck to North Haven girls as they come up against Tacking Point next.
Thank you to the Kendall P&C, in particular Tammy Middlemiss, Iona Bligh and Katrina McSkimming.
Also thank you also to Camden Haven High School and Brett Anderson whose students were excellent in their roles as referees.
Thank you too to the parents from all attending schools who assisted with transport and support of the players.
Once again it was an excellent day and we are looking to continue this event next year.
