After many years of wishing, negotiating and planning, the Camden Haven Redbacks finally have a set of dug-outs to protect the players from the elements.
“Dug-outs have been a dream for the club for a number of years now,” publicity officer Tamara Burns said.
“It is just so wonderful that after so many years of dreaming, we were finally able to bring our ideas to fruition.”
Such an endeavour would never have been possible without the support of sponsors and the work of volunteers.
“Ryan Marjoribanks has been magnificent,” said Sponsorship Co-ordinator Niels Hummel.
“He spent three or four days working on the project full-time, as a volunteer, which is just fantastic.”
Competition for the Premier League and ladies kicks off on Saturday April 16, with the men taking on Port Saints in a grand final rematch in Laurieton.
Games for juniors recommence on April 22 and 23.
