ON the 8th March I attended the Hastings Heroine of the year Awards in Port Macquarie. I had nominated Sue Clement, for the continuous hard work she does for the Laurieton Women's Auxiliary.
Sue is confined to an electric scooter or wheelchair and is our treasurer. Sue cooks cakes for our Bingo at the LUSC, works at Bingo and helps one of the community shops. Sue is also one of the most independent people I know and I thought she deserved to be recognised for what she does for other people as well.
She was very happy to receive an award from Leslie Williams on the day.
We all work hard to raise money for the RSL.
Sue just proves having a disability doesn't have to stop you helping others.
Thank you Sue and all our ladies at Laurieton Women's RSL Auxiliary.
