Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club and Laurieton Hotel Fishing Club will be holding the inaugural “Battle of the Seas on the Greens” charity bowls day on Sunday June 19 at Club North Haven.
The event will raise money for Camden Haven Surf Club.
Surf club president Glen O’Brien said the event promises to be a fun for the entire family, which will also raise much needed funds for surf lifesaving.
“We rely heavily on fundraising in order to provide a surf life saving service in the Camden Haven and we cannot thank Laurieton Hotel Fishing Club enough for coming on board and putting a lot of work into launching this great initiative,” Glen said.
Laurieton Hotel Fishing Club president Pete Jackson is extremely positive about this new initiative.
“We have assisted Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club with fundraising in the past and are happy to be involved in this. In years to come we see this as being a fundraising event for several charities in the Camden Haven. There are plenty of good causes in our area and we hope that this fun bowls day will become an annual community event which supports the many great organisations in our community,” Pete said.
As well as a fun bowls day there will be barbecue lunch and lots of fun activities for the little kids including face painting and a giant treasure hunt.
A charity raffle is being held in conjunction with the bowls day with prizes including two-nights accommodation in a luxury cabin at Big 4 Bonny Hills, a $600 bottle of scotch whiskey from Laurieton Hotel and a four-hour boat hire from Dunbogan Boat Shed with tickets already on sale at several local businesses.
Cost is $10 per bowler or $40 for 6 bowlers with registration on the day commencing at 11am. Further information regarding the day can be found at www.facebook.com/CamdenHavenSLSC
