Hurry! It’s about to start!
Camden Haven Concert Band members have been busy this year performing around the community at Australia Day, The Beatles Festival, Heritage Week, Australia Day and the Riverwalk Markets. They’ve also been rehearsing for their annual concerts, which stretch and showcase their abilities beyond the outdoor performances.
This year’s concert theme is “TV Greats”.
The show will take you on an action-packed journey through the decades, to some of the most iconic music themes from your favourite TV shows. It’s a thrilling roller coaster ride! Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, the Muppets, the Flintstones, Addams Family, Get Smart and Hogan’s Heroes will rekindle childhood memories. You’ll re-live the action and adventure with Peter Gunn, Dr Who, the A-Team, Shaft, Hawaii Five-O, Star Trek and Mission Impossible. And let’s not forget the drama of Downton Abbey or The Game of Thrones! This is a mere taste of the amazingly varied and exciting program compiled by our Musical Director and Conductor Iain Pole, which contains well over 60 themes!
As well as the whole band, a number of extremely talented players will be featured throughout the program. The band has players from pre-teens to those in their 70s. It’s a clear demonstration that age is no barrier to music participation, and that music can bring all ages together.
The concert is on Sunday 5th June at 2 pm at the Laurieton School of Arts.
In case you can’t make that one, (or want to see it again!), there’ll be a second performance on Sunday 17th July at 2 pm at the Kendall Community Hall.
So gather together family and friends, come along and support your local community band and share our musical adventure! Tickets are available at the door: Adults $10.00 and children 12 years & under only $5.00.
A yummy afternoon tea is also included, so set aside Sunday afternoon for this enjoyable event!
