GOLFERS will tee off for a legend on August 7, and at the same time, raise some money for a vital community group.
It will cost you just $30 to play in the Ian Barbato Memorial Golf Day, and you get breakfast and a hit of golf.
Money raised on the 12th golf day will go to Kendall Riding for the Disabled.
Golf day organiser Simon Hancoxwants to raise as much money as possible for the "wonderful organisation". Last year, the golf day raised about $4000.
"It's enough to feed and look after a horse for about 12 months," Mr Hancox said.
The day has raised about $20,000 for the organisation over the 12 years it has run. Mr Barbato would be proud. The colourful Camden Haven character passed away in 2004. Mr Barbato's wife Wendy plays every year.
The four-person ambrose gets underway at 7.30am with a shotgun start. For more information about the day, phone Mr Hancox on 0423 941 136 or the pro shop at Kew on 6559 4596.
