The next Kendall Music Exchange will be held on Friday September 2.
The main guest artists will be Jim and Sue from Bonny Hills.
Jim and Sue have been performing their heartfelt songs together for eight years now. Their style could be described as acoustic folk, sometimes with a dash of soft rock, sometimes with a hint of country, blended with their beautiful vocal harmonies.
Jim plays the acoustic guitar and Sue djembe and percussion.
Bring your instrument along and play a couple of songs or just come and listen to all the wonderful music. Doors open at the Kendall Community Hall at 6.30pm for 7pm start. Entry is by donation.
There is some good news to report: the Kendall Music Exchange has found new facilitators!
Brian and Alison would like to welcome Jill, Mike, Lorinda and Glyn, who have volunteered to take on the running of the Music Nights.
Many thanks and best wishes to this very enthusiastic new team!
“Thank you to all the musicians who are sharing their heart and soul with us through their songs and thank you to all the people who come and listen with so much appreciation to every song,” Alison said.
“It has been very rewarding for Brian and I to watch this wonderful event grow into what it is today. Thank you also for all the generous donations, which make it possible to run the night.
“It costs $110 to hold the night. Even on nights when only few people attended, this cost was always covered. On big nights, when up to 100 people attended, the surplus donations are donated back to the community, in total, in the following way (these are the figures for the last 12 months): $490 donated to Kendall Chronicle, $200 donated to a local family in need to help with cancer treatment, $100 to Kendall Community Hall, $100 to Camden Haven Show Society and $100 to Camden Haven Pony Club. What a fantastic result of the Music Exchange, which is always so enjoyable! May it continue for many years.”
