The new nets will provide not only the school but the community with facilities to continue to grow the sport in the area.
In partnership with the school and member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams, the Bonny Hills-Lake Cathie Cricket Club facilitated the new surface.
The ultimate goal is to get not just more kids playing cricket, but adults as well.

Club development manager Scott Moulds said it was a great outcome.
“It has been two years or so in the making. We’ve been working on it since before the school was even open,” he said.
“The ultimate goal is to get not just more kids playing cricket, but adults as well. We have a community use agreement with the school.”
The club put more than 500 man hours of work into the new cricket nets as they attempt to promote junior cricket to the students.
The new facility was partly funded by the Community Building Partnerships program, which contributed $20,000 to the project.
Lake Cathie Public School principal Jock Garvin said Cricket NSW, Leslie Williams and the cricket club have all provided fantastic support.
“The new nets offer great opportunities for students in our area. We are very fortunate,” he said.
