The local election has transpired and it's time to reflect on your vote.
After years of corrupt councillors, an administrator and a newly elected council body, the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has finally moved the area forward and we have footpaths, bicycle paths and a new bridge (thanks to state & federal bodies) being constructed.
Hooray!
We (the working populace) have had to endure anti-bridge lobbyists, anti-mobile phone tower lobbyists and a handful of turn-the-wall-reserve-into-a-rubbish-tip-and-firebug-target lobbyists. Thanks for that!
All the rhetoric provided by council as to why they should not do their job and mow the grass is full of political lies.
Political lies now pushed at the greyhound industry in the name of selfish agendas.
Solar rebates that have not closed one single power station at a cost of billions to the taxpayer.
Fiberglass insulation that is illegal in some American states, again, at a cost of billions to the taxpayer.
Something for nothing; that's become the Aussie way!
Let me assure you, when its for free, ultimately it’s NO GOOD!
That's the way the system works and always has.
The system is so corrupt, that the big two department stores have not stocked rabbit since the greyhound debacle.
King Quails unavailable from pet shops due to reptile owners giving their snakes a live kill.
People living on the other side of the river telling us that live on this side of the river we want to cut trees down for water views is one of the most offensive suggestions that have been put forward in the newspaper. And yet another telling us that because they have lived in seven different locations their opinion is more valid than those that know the area!
My advice?
Vote wisely!
