PORT Macquarie paralympians Ryley Batt and Paige Leonhardt had an experience they’ll never forget at Rio 2016.
Batt returns to the Hastings later this week with another gold medal around his neck.
The Aussies had to navigate their way through two tough overtime fixtures against Canada and the United States.
The US and the Australians had to be separated by two overtime periods.
Leonhardt registered numerous personal bests at her first performance at a paralympics while Batt and the Steelers claimed gold.
Leonhardt’s coach, Jeremy Wardrop said the teenager thoroughly enjoyed her first experience at an international level.
“It was a hectic week for her, but she absolutely loved the experience,” he said.

Sweet success: Ryley Batt relaxes earlier in his paralympics campaign.
