DRAGON BOATING
The weather may have been grey and drizzly but it couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of Camden Haven Dragon Boat Team's newest members at the Coffs Coast Dragon Boat Regatta.
Clive Henley, Chris Bulmer, Marg Avery, Dee Potter, Cherie Saxby, Dave Roberson and Jo-Anne Bulmer, all made their racing debut in the 200m sprints at Mylestom.
The club also had two sweeps, Dave Napper and Ted Atkins attained their level three accreditation at the weekend event.
Camden Haven competed strongly in the field of nine teams from the Northern region and narrowly missed qualifying for the finals.
“Dragon boating is a great water sport accommodating a wide range of ages and fitness levels,” said Camden Haven Dragon Boat club captain Mel Hazelgrove.
“As the weather warms up and enjoying the beautiful waterways of the Camden Haven river becomes more and more popular, why not contact the club for a 'come and try session?'.
“You can see by the smiles on these faces, there's an opportunity to extend yourself, make new friends and improve your fitness.”
