Interested in doing business with Port Macquarie-Hastings Council?
Local businesses and suppliers are invited to attend council’s local supplier forum on October 27 to gain a better understanding of how the local government tendering process works.
Senior management and representatives from council’s procurement team will present on a number of topics highlighting opportunities for local suppliers to establish business relations with council.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council director, Rebecca Olsen said this forum follows on from the successful supplier workshops held last year.
“The forum will provide local suppliers the opportunity to learn more about how to tender for council business, how decisions are made, the contract award process and tips for submitting a tender,” Ms Olsen said.
“The session will also provide suppliers an overview of how to access upcoming tenders as part of the 2016/17 Operational Plan and how to become a government preferred supplier.
“Participants will also receive information on further workshops planned for November that will provide an insight into developing better tender writing skills and unpacking the process of what happens once a tender is submitted to council.”
Ms Olsen said the forum will also provide a great networking opportunity for suppliers and information gained will provide a blue-print that can be used for tendering across all government levels - local, state and federal.
