Kendall was the venue for third grade cricket as the LUSC sponsored Camden Haven side took to the pitch missing many of their usual star players.
However the Havens fielded a full side thanks to young Master Coles stepping up.
Havens lost the toss and their performance in the field was not one to write home about.
Bonny Hills piled on a total of 191, batting out the overs.
Wickets were shared amongst the bowlers, with each picking up one wicket.
With the bat the Havens were quietly confident on a quick outfield and strong form at present.
Skipper Colin Harris and Nev Raccani began proceedings.
Nev played anchor whilst the skipper carried on his variety of shots.
The first wicket fell at 72, Craig Cumming then took on the anchor role as Harris blazed away.
The Haven’s only lost another wicket passing the big Bonny Hills total.
Finally Mark Ready put on 19 not out to remain with Colin who carried his bat with 131 not out.
He did give away numerous chances late in the innings however Bonnies were not up to it with just nine players in the field.
Cricket takes a break now until January 14. Nets training returns on January 5.
To everyone in the club, all the very best for the festive season. Enjoy sensibly see you all next year fit and well, let’s give this a crack! Go you Havens.
Previous result
On December 3 the Haven’s took on the Buccaneers at Wood Street Port Macquarie.
Despite losing the toss the Havens were sent in to bat on a blustery day.
Openers Harris and Cummins began extremely well. The first to go was Harris with the score at 101, Cummins was out not long after and from there on the runs dried up until Lindsay and Izach Dennis combined for a good father-son partnership.
Lindsay soon had to depart scoring his 30-odd quite quickly. Smith and Dwyer then made sure the Havens batted out the innings, posting a competitive total of 183.
While the total was competitive, catches did not stick and the Buccaneers snuck home with three overs to go. Wickets went to Smith 4, T Taylor and Izach got the other two.
At the post match discussion at the LUSC Jake Otto insisted that the Havens need to take a leaf out of his book taking the only screamer on the day.
