A house was destroyed and its occupant taken to hospital in a fire at Comboyne on Monday morning.
The Rural Fire Service received a triple zero call from a neighbour at 3.20am on December 12 alerting them to a house fire on Duck’s Road, Comboyne.
Sancrox, Wauchope and Comboyne Rural Fire Service units responded and on arrival were confronted with a home and two sheds well alight.
The crews could not save the home and remained on site until 9am.
The neighbour transported the occupant to hospital with non life threatening burns to his hands and face.
Mid North Coast District Rural Fire Service Inspector Guy Duckworth said there was nothing crews could do to save the home.
“We sent four heavy units and a lighting group from Wauchope, Sancrox and Comboyne but by the time we got there the house was destroyed,” Inspector Duckworth said.
Police attended the scene and will be investigating the cause of the fire.
