Anytime there is a crackdown on bushland dumping, op shop volunteers notice an increase in donations left outside the shop outside of business hours. Much of this is in no condition to be resold.
These items then have to be transported by us to the local tip, where they should have gone in the first place.
We don’t want to see rubbish dumped anywhere. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that their unwanted belongings and refuse are sorted so that saleable donations for places such as out local op shops are not mixed with rubbish and broken items that should be disposed of at the local tip.
