The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council draft document outlines a $93 million capital works program across the local government area.

The draft operational plan details the activities, performance measures, and budgets in 2017-2018 to achieve the commitments in the delivery program. 

A recommendation will go before the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council April 19 meeting to place the Integrated Planning and Reporting documents on public exhibition for 28 days.

The documents include the draft 2017-2018 operational plan, draft delivery program 2017-2021 and draft fees and charges 2017-2018.

Community engagement over the past 18 months fed into the suite of documents.

A council report said the 2017-18 financial year would see the council continue to deliver/commence some major infrastructure works.

They include the Granite Street Reservoir demolition and construction, Port Macquarie Airport terminal upgrade, Laurieton southern arm trunk main, area 15 sewerage upgrade, Small Town Sewerage Schemes, Dunbogan Bridge, along with road resealing and other works.

“In addition to delivering some major projects, council will continue to deliver services such as water and sewer, library, cultural services and waste,” the report said.

The allowable rate increase of 1.5 per cent for the 2017-2018 financial year has been applied in full.

The council has applied to the Independent Regulatory and Pricing Tribunal for a special rate variation of 3.89 per cent, plus the rate peg amount, to embed the funds from the current 4.43 per cent expiring special rate variation.

The revenue policy includes rating figures with and without approval of the special rate variation application.

Other items on the council meeting agenda include town and village signs, the pedestrian access and mobility plan for Beechwood, Comboyne, Long Flat, North Shore and Telegraph Point, and the long-term renewable energy strategy.

The meeting is at the Burrawan Street council chambers from 5.30pm on April 19.
