The money raised from the organisation’s International Women’s Day breakfast and Hastings Heroine Awards, supported by Leslie Williams MP, was donated directly to Galbann House.
Port Macquarie Hastings Domestic & Family Violence Specialist Service (HDFVSS) coordinator Gemma Morley said the donation was a testament to the committed support shown by the community for services supporting local women and children.
“It’s more than just the money, it’s about feeling supported by the community as a team,” Ms Morley said. The Hastings Business Women’s Network support our work year after year.”
Leslie Williams MP said this year’s event with special guest Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, who lost her son in an horrific domestic violence attack, was inspirational.
The HBWN has donated more than $30,000 to the HDFVSS and is one of the service’s major supporters.
