Coordinator Garry Walsh said volunteering at the centre is a great way to help the community. The centre provides tea and coffee to travellers for a gold coin donation, sells locally-made craft, gifts and hand-made wooden toys, and offers travellers plenty of information on the Camden Haven.
“Many of our volunteers joined because they were looking for a way to give back to the community and have benefitted from the companionship and friendly nature of the team here,” Mr Walsh said. “Visitors are often surprised by what they find here with all the information on the area and the things sold at the centre. We have some very clever people making many wonderful gifts to sell.”
