A crowd of 500 people were thrilled and delighted by a very special concert in Laurieton.
The Royal Australian Navy Band gave a rousing performance in aid of the Rebuild Pappinbarra appeal, after the devastating bushfires in February. Three families lost their homes and many more lost outhouses, fencing and pasture.
Also on the bill was the Port Macquarie Hastings Municipal Band, who played favourites like Glen Miller’s In The Mood.
Entry was by gold coin donation and the concert on Sunday July 2 at Laurieton United Services Club raised an impressive $1,300 for the bushfire appeal.
Lisa McLeod of Rebuild Pappinbarra described it as a great effort.
“Thanks so much to the Hastings Concert Band and the Royal Australian Navy Band. Great show, and amazing turn out - thanks to all who came along and donated. We are so very grateful,” she added.
