The breeze was very light and tricky, as is usually the case in winter.
The winning crew on the day was crafty Nathan Kaul and beautiful Belinda Bennetts. Weather permitting this event will now take place every year.
The Laurieton United Services Club have assisted the sailing club greatly in building its fleet of Laser dinghies to eight.
All boats are housed on site at the QLSC clubhouse and are the ideal boat for anyone - adult or child - who is interested in learning to sail.
They can be sailed solo or 2up.
Stockland, a local real estate company, have also assisted the club with the purchase of life jackets. A big thank you needs to go to both these organisations.
Although the official sailing season does not start again until October a number of members sail all year round.
Anyone interested can contact David Castleton on 0402 111 230, Ian Read on 0434 986 585 or visit the QLSC Facebook page.
